Challenge: Move B2B, B2C portal to Amazon Cloud
A local company, Panoptic Holdings, developed up with a innovative design on-line system for their customizable products and needed both the ability to ramp up server capabilities on short notice as well as to change their underlying Operating System architecture from Windows Server to Linux. They decided to move their new DOL system to Amazon's EC2 cloud because of it's flexibility, scaleability and cost.
Solution:
We assisted them with overall system design, system configuration, building of EC2 images, server setup on Amazon's Cloud. This complex system ended up using Amazon EC2, Amazon EBS, Amazon S3 and Amazon RDS products.

Challenge: Increase Network Security in Physician's Office
A local physician's office needed to meet the increased security requirements placed upon the medical community by the federal government. In July of 2006 the FTC determined that medical practices were in fact creditors just like banks and other lending institutions and were now subject to a new "red letter" rule in order to prevent ID theft. This rule, which took effect in late 2009, is different than HIPPA regulations which just covered unauthorized access to patient medical records.
Solution:
In order to add additional security to their network and Internet connection we replaced their current antiquated firewall with a Unified Threat Management (UTM) system which included a deep packet inspection Firewall, Gateway Anti-virus, Gateway Anti-Spyware, Intrusion Prevention and VPN services. The UTM system has a built in application firewall for future growth. In order to assure connection reliability we included a fail-over system to switch from their primary ISP to a secondary ISP within seconds of loss of connectivity. We enabled their external billing services vendor to access the network securely via a dedicated VPN connection and also enabled practice members to access the network securely from anywhere using SSL VPN.
