How to change the admin contact email

If you are trying to transfer a domain name either by editing the ownership or to move it to a different registrar the admin or owner contact email address must be correct. If either of these are not correct and if you do not have the domain login information the admin email address must be corrected before anything else can be done.

There is only one way to correct the admin contact email address.

Browse to http://www.active-server.com
Click on the "Domains" option in the menu.
Click on "Change Admin Email Address"
That will take you to the following URL:
http://resellers.tucows.com/adminchange ... ge_cno.htm
You can also go to that URL directly.
Follow the instructions on this page and fax the required documentation to OpenSRS.
Due to ICANN rules and regulations there is no other way to do this.

Note: The instructions on what is needed is quite clear in the form.
For example: The owner of yoursitename.com wishes to change their admin email address.

If they browse to:

It provides a form they can fill out prior to faxing. They recommend that you check the WHOIS (there is a link provided) prior to filling out the form to make sure you are giving them the correct information.
If this is a domain name registered to an individual they will need to include a clear copy of a government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license or passport
If this is a domain name registered to a organization they will need to include:
1. This request printed on company letterhead (alternatively you can make a written request on letterhead and included the same information on this page)
2. Business Registration or Incorporation documents issued by your government that bears the name of the requestor
3. A clear copy of a government-issued photo ID (driver's license/passport) connecting the Organization to the Requestor listed in the registration documents
While these instructions are very clear and do not require a law degree to understand here are a few examples.

1. Mary Smith has registered MarySmithFamily.org and is listed as the admin/owner contact.
She will have to fax in a clear copy of a government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license or passport along with her request for the change using the form provided.

2. Jane Doe is the registered contact for acme-roadrunner-traps.com
If she is an officer of the corporation then she can request a change in the email address using the form provided. She will have to fax in both the requested documentation for the corporation as well as personal ID. Note: As the registered admin contact she can probably make the change request even if she is no longer associated with the corporation, assuming she has the correct documentation. This is a very good reason to make sure the admin contact is kept up to date.

3. Jane Doe is the registered contact for acme-roadrunner-traps.com
If she is no longer an officer in the corporation and is no longer available. A current corporation officer will have to make the request to change in the email address using the form provided. This office will have to fax in both the requested documentation for the corporation as well as personal ID. The request will have to be made on the letter head of the corporation.
